Thursday was my birthday! At midnight the night before I was in the shower and heard a loud banging at the bathroom door and a voice screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"- Wele was letting me know because it was 12:01 haha. It was a wonderful day! There are some great girls a couple apartments down (the ones we invited for dinner the other Sunday for dinner and games) who made me cookies and a cute signed card. The Relief Society President (megan) who I work with as Secretary brough me chocolate chip muffins. My family had an amazing cupcake shop bring me 12 cupcakes (GIANT ones!) which was just wonderful to come home to. There was a ward activity that night and they sang to me. It was great! That night I went over to a girls apartment who are Spanish speaking returned missionaries. They are so sweet by making me cobbler, sticking candels in it and singing to me:) I taught them some pointers in playing the violin since they are really interested in learning. It's funny that they have violins but haven't learned because they haven't had someone to teach them. So, they are going to give me sessions to prepare me for a Spanish speaking mission and I'll give them little violin lessons!
Friday was a good day too! After work I did my homework and went home and my roommates surprised me with decorations all over the apartment, a song, and Danae (one of my roommates who works at millhollow) got a ton of ice cream for me! That night they took me to go to farmers warket which is an event that is done every weekend where there is good homeade food and stuff ot buy. I got cute earings for $2 and a dream catcher. Then we all added up the change Jackie had in her purse to get strawberry lemonades! We all decided we wanted to go "mormon club hopping" or go to a bunch of dances that were happening around campus and off campus. I played some games in the gardens with some cool friends while the others did latin since I couldn't do dancing. My foot was in a lot of pain so I got advil and we went to an off campus party. I decided that I am never going to off campus parties again. They are sick. Only the mormons who could care less about the standards go to them.
Danae and I left after a couple songs and Wele and Jackie stayed. We finished playing some garden games til about 12:30 and then went home to play just dance:) Saturday I did a lot of homework, went to the temple which helped me feel so much peace and joy, then I practiced my violin for several hours. BY THE WAY...I tried out for a solo that I didn't know if I'd get it----I DID!!!!! It is going to be so cool!!! I am so excited! I also tried out for and made the BYUI got talent Talent Show! I perform next Saturday:) That night my stand partner had extra tickets for an amazing performance by one of the best pianists in the world. Wele also had a ticket so we all went. It was so good it took my breath away!!! Then we all went to see Divergent in the dollar theatre which was fun. Then we went home and played games.
Today I gave a lesson on preparing for our "four minute" under pressure and temptation situations. I think it went well:) Tonight I was invited to two different places for dinner. Life is doing great! Trusting Heavenly Father with one's troubles is key to being happy and finding peace. If you make him your confidant, you can never fail. He will never fail you:) There are such wonderful people up here!
