We were at the very end of the cave- what a fun night:)
Right before the 5K race!!!
I won the turkeyyyy!!!
The gun goes off!
Last week was nice and busy! Wednesday I went to a speed-dating social which ended being alright. There were a bunch of cute girls and a few OK-ish guys. I wasn't there long before I decided to leave and go Country dancing which was so much fun!!! But I had to leave that really early because I had 5:30am work Thursday morning. Thursday was such a long day because I ended working about 7-8 hours.
Thursday and Friday was choir practice and
performance which was really fun to be a part of! At the choir concert we sang
a song with the men's choir and the entire symphony orchestra which was
awesome!!! I stayed after to watch the orchestra concert. At that point I
concluded that I will be in the Orchestra next semester. I miss playing the
violin so much! After the Friday concert, I went Latin and Ballroom dancing
where I met up with some old friends that are really cool guys (one of which is
really cute)! That was such a fun night:)
Saturday was awesome!!! I got up early and my friend Cade picked me up in
his car to run a race!! It ended up being one of the funnest things I have done
while being here at BYUI. Cade is such an awesome guy:) He's heading out on his
mission in 2 months, which makes our friendship very carefree and unserious
which I love because I'm so used to wife-hungry RMs. Cade and I warmed up and
then both of us reached our goals! There was a random drawing of names to get a
free turkey. My chances were so slim because there were so many names in there,
but I WON!!!!! What a cool experience:D Cade took me home and I put the turkey
in the sink and tried to figure out what I was going to do with it. I then went
swing dancing and did homework for several hours. At 4:30 I went to work. It
ended up being a little boring because it was a wedding reception- we had to
wait around for a long time, but I still love my job and socializing that comes
with it.
That night
was amazing! My roommates didn't wait for me and decided to go to
"Catching Fire" while I was at work, so I went with a girl from work
and a bunch of her crazy roommates at the 10:50 showing:) There's a guy from
work that I liked who was going to be there- so it was cool to see him. The
movie was fantastic!- It blew me away!! It was like 10X better than the first
movie. My roommates had to open the gate to let me in past curfew.
My roommates and Katie's boyfriend hanging out on Saturday after the race.Sunday night beautiful sunset!:)Megan and Sarah at the 2nd story
My turkey= a success!!!
All of us trying to coordinate what we are going to make!
The turkey remains- Fred is dead ;)
Our pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving dinner!
Sunday morning I was so confused as to what I should do with my turkey!
I called up Grandma Christensen who has done this many many times. I am pleased
to say that I succeeded:)!!! I was so proud of myself. Sunday I also had to
prepare a lesson that was completely open ended. I chose to teach on gratitude
since it was the most appropriate. I prepared for several hours and it went
well. That night Megan, Sarah and I made our own Thanksgiving dinner! They made
mashed potatoes, gravy with the turkey juice, the veggies that were in the
turkey and I made cookie dough that didn't really turn out. I also went to
dinner with some friends from high school. I always go singing at stadium
singing which is so fun because I meet new people every time since I don't
normally have a hymn book:)
My friend's dinner.Stadium singing with random people.
My dad used to have a stand partner (now Brother Dubell) when he went to BYUI in the Symphony Orchestra. My dad told me I had to get a picture of him:) It was a very interesting meeting, he told me that he suddenly felt very old to have a child of Brad Bohn attending BYUI.
Okay so my mom had a cart when she went to BYUI that she was in charge of as her job. She would sell soup and sandwiches and just stand there looking pretty;) I found her cart hidden in the corner of the hart building- it lives on!!!!:)
Monday and
Tuesday was filled with straight studying and projects that I plowed through.
It added up to about 12 hours of homework:P Mom made me go to the doctor
because I had been sick for like 3 wks straight and only got worse, so they
prescribed me some medicine that has helped immensely. I worked devotional on
Tuesday which was fun. That night I got a phone call from a guy named James who
said that I had met him speed dating. He asked me out on a date for that night.
I had planned to study for 4 hours, but I ditched that idea:) It was a fun
night! We doubled with his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend. Two of his
friends joined up halfway through and we kept teasing them about being on a
date with each other. We went bowling which James killed it! He got 147 pts, i
did alright but we had fun:) Theeeeeen, we went out to eat to pizza pie cafe
and ordered buffet style! It was really fun because his roommates were really
funny. James was really sweet and kept making sure I was doing okay. We went
back to his place after that and we kept discussing the fact that we wanted to
play games or watch a movie but no one stepped up and decided for like and
hour. James then could see I was looking tired (felt a little sick) and so he
walked me home. It was really fun though! It was really flattering to get
treated, it added up to a lot which I was surprised of.
Well
I got home and did homework for several hours, woke up and did homework for
several hours and packed my bags to go to Idaho Falls for Thanksgiving. Now I'm
chillin at my grandma Bohn's house waiting for an insane amount of family to
arrive:) Life is good! I am happy because my homework is done and the party has
just begun. I'll also have some time to get better so that the last 4 weeks of
school are awesome!!!
