First week in the cast!

Well, this week has most certainly been an interesting one that I am glad is almost done. I feel that it was a stretching week that taught me many lessons and that I am glad I went through. There were people who were there for me and I find mini-miracles occurring. That Sunday night of last week, we as roommates all went to a campground and roasted marshmallows. It was a pretty pathetic fire, but we made it work! On Monday I did have fun with our FHE group and a couple other groups shooting guns out by R mountain. We rode with a couple of our brothers and I almost hit one of the targets we were shooting in the air. On Tuesday I got my cast on at the doctors. The reason why I have to get it on now is because I will have just enough time to go home and recover for 6 weeks before I go on my mission. Otherwise I would have to really postpone everything. In addition to this knowledge my family and I have prayed about this and it feels right. I have crutches and my family got me a scooter that is literally a massive miracle in all of this craziness. It requires effort to push around, but it is nothing like crutches. I have two pairs of crutches- one that I keep at the bottom of the stairs of my apartment so that when I get off my scooter I can get up the stairs and use them to get around. The other pair is at my work so I can park my scooter and use the crutches to go upstairs and work.
Wednesday was my first day trying to make everything work and for the most part everything went well. On Thursday and Friday I got the flu which was miserable, I won't lie. I couldn't go to any of my classes or work because I felt just sick with stuffed nose, cough, head ache, and the overall sicky feeling. I pretty much slept nonstop. At one point on Thursday I was having a rough time and I was crying uncontrollably. I decided that a blessing was needed so I texted a ton of my guy friends and one responded telling me he would be right over. What a blessing it wass to see Eric and his roommate come in the door 15 min later in suit and tie and give me a blessing. I was blessed with the ability to heal and get through this and be able to go on my mission. My stand partner in Orchestra randomly came over Friday night with soup (which she heated on the stove) and a thing of soda. These little things meant the entire world to me during this time. Another friend left a treat and a "get well soon' sign on it for me. Little acts of kindness go such a long way!
Friday night, one of my friends who is in charge of the Country dancing crew took me to go see a dance performance by the best dancers in the school- dance alliance going on tour. I was feeling unwell, but all I did was sit and watch, so not too strenuous. It was unreal! Amazing! I am sure it took forever to get down. After wards she took me to icecream where we just relaxed and talked. At that point in the night I really really wish that I had just decided to go home because it was already 11pm. We were invited by a couple cute guys to watch a movie at their place. I don't know what I was thinking or even if I was thinking clearly. I was definetly not 100%, yet I was going. Preeetty dumb.
We got there and Brent (this good-looking super strong dancer who I had done lifts with before I got hurt) was waiting there to take me up to the third floor of their apartment. So being all macho, he carried me and my crutches up there. We ended up watching Men in Black III with a bunch of others. Half way through the movie I was feeling really sick. I wanted to leave, but Katrina had fallen asleep and how on earth was I supposed to get down stairs with out some assistance. So at about 2:30 am the movie ended and people started going home. I finally made someone wake Katrina up, Brent carried me down and we went to her car which had been booted! So it took a while to work all that out.
I got to bed around 3am----yeah, not a great idea. I don't like relying on others for rides because you have no choice. But life happens. Saturday I slept in forever and then  knocked out 6 hours of homework. I did the best I could with not feeling great. There was a cute guy I met and talked to for a while in the library,  then practiced for an hour, then scooted home.Saturday night I watched some movies and went to sleep.
Today I woke up late with Wele, so we dashed to church. I will tell you that I am feeling a little better- a little sleep should do the trick! With everything that has happened, the Lord's hand has been in my life. I know he lives and that he has a plan for all of us. I am so grateful for him and that these trials can make us better people.

Last party week!

This week has been extremely busy! On Mondsey I was in charge of the FHE lesson which we had at a bishop rick member's home. It went really well! For some of it I had the girls and the guys split up and write down qualities that people of the opposite sex should have to be better Men or Women of God. I have been working hard to get my grades up studying more. There is only 4 weeks left of school, so I don't have much time. I have all A's and two B pluses!
On Thursday I ate lunch crepes with a great guy in my English class who is real cool. On Thursday night I went to the temple and then the Country dance instructors had a big BBQ which was really fun! I have grown to really love those people. On Friday I tried to be busy! That night I went to a dance and only danced two dances before my foot hurt, so I joined some girls I met at the dance playing games in the gardens which didn't last very long. After that I went to their apartment to watch a movie and have pizza. I went home after the movie and watched Pitch Perfect which was entertaining though it did have cussing and I wouldn't recommend it. It was Danae's birthday on Saturday so Mary made her a cake and cupcakes.
Saturday morning I finished an essay and then went to a byui service activity coloring ABC books and painting blocks for children in other countries. I met a girl there named Allyson who I invited to join me that night for icover. I then practiced my violin for an hour and worked out for an hour. I invited my friend Brian who I work with in the crossroads to go with me to icover and we met Allyson there. icover was really fun! I hung out with Brian for the first half as we watched the bands. I had some friends in the bands.
After the bands performed, Brian had to go, so I found Allyson and went to the dance. Of course I stayed off my foot as much as I could, but I had so much fun! The dance went until there were literally only 6 people left. Soooo, we all decided to go to Kiwi Loco and get icecream. It was awesome because most of us didn't know each other. It was a bonus that one of the guys was reeeally cute haha. We all got icecream, then sat around the table and said one thing about ourselves that was interesting. It was way fun! After that they dropped me off at home.
Today I went to church at 7:30 for Ward Counsel and then went to church. I really enjoy church- missionary prep is an insightful class! I also love my calling as a Secretary because I get to work with the best girls! Life is doing good. I've been preparing myself for this Tuesday because I am getting a cast on my leg. It will be crutches all over campus again, the whole bit. But I am doing this only because it feels right and I will have 6 weeks before my mission to recover. It will also prevent me from using my leg to be active in any way. Weeeeeell, four weeks left. The last lap;)

All of my videos!!!

I'm trying to get the videos uploaded. This will be ready shortly.

FHE fun and Concert

This week was good. I would say that it was extremely busy! On Monday was FHE and we all combined with two other FHE groups and went to Porter park. Everyone brought tons of jello and water balloons! It was sooooofun! We all had a huge fight and got soaked and jello-ed. I got so much jello in my hair that it looked nasty! After that, us and our FHE sisters thought it would be fun to have a flour fight as well! So they bought flour and came back. It was awesome, we looked crazy! We kept trying to get our FHE brothers with flour, but they kept spraying us with squirt guns and sprinting into their car every time we chase after them. At least we got to pelt their car with flour.
Tuesday I got a lot of homework done and started my block class of career exploration which I am excited for. That night, a girl named Marli who is an awesome girl (the one teaching me Spanish) invited me to be her companion in heading up a fireside for a combined Young Womans activity of an advisor in our YSA ward. The girls had written detailed questions about their personal concerns like dating, modesty, bullying... and we went through and answered them the best we could. Marli is a powerhouse fresh off her mission, so I did my best to help the girls like she did. The leaders told us we were amazing for coming though, so I am so grateful we could help. The advisor also fed us a huge dinner which was really nice:)
Wednesday and Thursday I just crammed and crammed hours of homework. It was crazy! We also had to move our entire apartment over that night which was insane. Thursday night was the ward talent show which I did devil. It didn't really work out though since they couldn't get the sound working. Friday morning Danae, Wele, Danae's older sister (Lareesa) and I were driven by Danae's mom to the car rental place. From there we drove 6 hours to Boise playing fun games all the way there:) Once we got there, we put our stuff at my Uncle Spencer and Ilah's place which it was so kind for them to let us stay there. From there we drove downtown and went out to Frozen yogurt icecream and then to 'Big Juds' for dinner!!! It was so fun! Next we all walked to the concert. I was BLOWN AWAY by how awesome the concert was! The performers were awesome- American Authors/ script/ One Republic!!! We cheered and had so much fun watching the electric cello performances, insane piano performances, and killer singers. The only issue was the cussing, but other than that, we had so much fun! After the concert we all got $30 T-shirts and drove and crashed at my relative's house. The next morning we slept in to 9 and drove the 5ish hours back:)
When we got back we got all of our groceries and hit the books. I studied for about 2 hours and went to the Bridal shower of the cutest couple ever. We played cute games at the shower. They are the most amazing people! I hope to end up like them for sure!
Theeeen, my friend Katrina who is the Country dancing manager and I went to cocoa bean and had cupcakes and just talked which was nice. We then watched "Fault in our Stars" and had a cry fest. It was a really good movie, definetly a crying movie. We got home around 12:30 and I had to be awake at 6:45 the next morning for ward counsel. I enjoy being a secretary:) It is my pleasure to be able to have that calling and serve those around me! Life is good:) I really enjoy my work, though it is tiring every day! I work 3 hours five days a week as a cashier. Mostly I enjoy the people that I work with. One guy named Brian makes me laugh so hard. He makes work easy! I currently have 4 As and 2 Bs (which I will turn into As!). I also made my dad a video for father's day. Happy Father's day all!!!
